Everyday
"Everyday" is about the lives of two individuals with a very tight schedule. They lead active lives but at the same time, feel empty.
They live according to what others expect from them. She, based on her mother's criteria. He, according to society's norms.
Do we have the lives we desire? Do we take the time to contemplate this? Is the life of a person with Down syndrome so different from that of someone who doesn’t have it?
The project
The series was selected as a finalist in the "Descubrimientos Photoespaña" competition within the Photoespaña Festival 2010 and won the international contest Septenio 2010. It has been exhibited in Tarragona as part of the SCAN Festival 2010, in La Laguna (Tenerife) as part of the Fotonoviembre Festival 2009, and at the Centro de Arte La Recova in Santa Cruz de Tenerife, also in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria at the 2009 V Gran Canaria Digital Photography Encounter.
